The Ark of Time – Raven’s Choice DLC Release Date Confirmed for March 21

Gravity Rush 2 Raven DLC - Raven

Sony has announced that “Gravity Rush 2 Alternative Side: The Ark of Time – Raven’s Choice”, the free DLC pack for Gravity Rush 2, will be released on March 21. The DLC was first revealed as a free addition to the game to make up for Gravity Rush 2‘s delay, and it features a side story with Raven in the main role. The story will see Raven fight alone to rescue the Lost Children, her childhood friends, from the Ark in which they have been asleep since the end of the first game.

Two new characters make an appearance in the DLC: Lumino, the Guardian of Light and Tenebria, Guardian of Darkness (both designed by Tatsuya Yoshikawa). Weird, seemingly mechanical, entities called “Garbage Collectors, Guardians of Space-Time” also make an appearance, and they were designed by Sawaki Takeyasu. Their role in the story haven’t been revealed, but it’s clear Raven will be fighting them. What’s not so clear is when the DLC actually takes place. With the exception of one screenshot, Raven is always seen wearing her old outfit from Gravity Rush 1. However, in the trailer she can be seen using an ability that she only appears to acquire far into Gravity Rush 2, and some buildings in Hekseville also weren’t there in Gravity Rush 1. So it’ll be interesting to see how the story unfolds. I’m probably not the only who would like to see the DLC add more closure to the full game’s ending, but that might be wishful thinking.

Aside from Raven’s story, the DLC brings another update to the game: the Delvool Trench Mines, which consisted of 30 layers of trials for the player to complete in order to unlock unique talismans, will be updated with another 20 layers. In addition, new rare talismans will be added to the game for the player to acquire. Below, you can find all the media released so far, along with last year’s announcement trailer for the DLC.
